MOUNTAINS
A panoramic view of Mountains can be ssen clearly from
different spots of Pokhara. The range is known as Annapurna
Range which includes from Dhaulagiri (8167 m.) in west to
Annapurna South (7219 m.), Annapurna - I (8091 m.), Himchuli
(6441 m.), Machhapuchre (6993 m.), Annapurna - III (7555
m.), Annapurna - IV (7525 m.), Annapurna - II (7937 m.),
Lamjung Himal (6905 m.) & Manasulu in east respectively.

LAKES
Pokhara Valley has numerous lakes. Biggest of
them is Phewa Lake, which is located in
the west of Pokhara City. It reflects the
panoramic view of Machhapuchre (Fishtail). Other
lakes are situated in the estern side of Pokhara
City. Begnas and Rupa Tal (about
12 km from Pokhara) are remarkable, among many
other small lakes of the Pokhara Valley as
Khaste, Kamalpokhari, Maidi,
Depang etc. |

SETI RIVER
The Seti river carves a deep course through the city area of
Pokhara from Bagar in the north to Sitapaila in the south.
The amazing course is carved by Patale Chhango popularly
known as Devi's Fall in the southern flank of Pokhara
Valley right of Siddharth Highway. At this point the stram
overflowing Phewa lake suddenly collapses and surges down
the rocks into a deep gorge, leaping through several holes
before taking a final plunge. |

CAVES
Pokhara has some intersting caves namely Mahendra
Gufa (located in northern side of Pokhara).
Chameri Gufa (5 minutes walk from the mahendra
gufa) & Gupteshor Gufa (Southern-west part of
Pokhara nearby Davi's Fall.). All caves are not
fully explored. |

TEMPLES & MONASTERIES
The Bindabasini temple is the center of religious activity
in the old bazaar area. Located right in the middle of the
Phewa Lake, the Barahi temple attracts many Hindu pilgrims
from Nepal and abroad. Another Hindu shrine is the
Bhadrikali temple, which is situated on a small but
beautiful hill with pleasant surroundings. World Peace
Pagoda, a massive Buddhist stupa, is situated on the top of
a hill on the southern shores of the top of a hill on the
southern shores of the Phewa Lake. Beside being an
impressive sight, this shrine, built by the Japanese, is a
greate vantage point offering spectacular views of the lake
as well as Pokhara Valley. |
